Jeffery H.
Jeff was a student at the Visual Art Institute from age 12 to 18. He was introduced to the program by Art Director Bruce Robertson, who was teaching art at Eastmont Middle School during Jeff’s time there. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Fine Arts at BYU, where he was the recipient of a number of scholarships. When asked about his time at VAI, Jeff said:
“Many of the summer programs and other classes helped round me out in artistic ability. But for me personally, the staff was able to connect and take an interest in me not only as a student but as a person. This care they took to expand my abilities helped expand my potential in many other aspects of my life. VAI gave me confidence in my art and in myself.”
During his time at BYU, and with the help of more college scholarships he was offered, Jeff traveled as a part of his study, to places like New York, California, and Iceland. He and his wife recently graduated college and are both currently work and living in Sandy, UT. This past year, Jeff came back to VAI not as a student but as an instructor. He plans to remain in Utah for another year, then to continue his education and earn a Master of Fine Arts at an out of state school.
