Alice W.
Alice was a student at the Visual Art Institute from age 7 - 18. They took a variety of courses with different teachers and fell in love with figure drawing, attending VAI’s Summer Figure Academy for 4 years. Alice attended an early college oil figure painting program at School of the Art Institute of Chicago at age 15. They then attended a summer workshop at Prince’s Drawing School in London. When asked about their experience at VAI, Alice said:
“My time at VAI helped me get more out of these [other] programs because of my base level of skills, knowledge of how to take and give critique and how to look at artwork from multiple perspectives and mindsets.”
Alice went to college at the Gage Academy of Art in Seattle. They love to learn and feel more creatively confident each time they learn a new skill. Along with drawing and painting, they have a variety of other creative interests, including tattoo design and furniture construction. They are currently studying furniture design at SLCC.
